Welcome to our Canadian Storytelling Camp website!
Desperate pirates, dastardly villains, deep dank caverns, distant lands where no human has ever dared venture…just a few of the things you can expect to encounter at Storytelling Camp.
This summer reach beyond the words and dive into the magical world of storytelling. Hear stories come alive straight from the authors themselves. Learn how to create your own worlds and tell your own stories from professional actors and illustrators.
In this four-day camp, children, entering grades 5 through 7, will be immersed in the creative art of storytelling using mostly verbal techniques. They will hear stories come alive straight from the authors themselves and learn how to create their own worlds and tell their own stories from professional actors and illustrators.
This camp is intended primarily for dyslexic children who have a love for stories and active imaginations but are not reading and writing at their grade level. All presentations and workshops will have a minimal writing component if any. It is the goal of this camp to build and encourage a passion for stories and personal creative expression using non-writing and non-reading based methods. It is not intended to increase grade level reading or writing competency.
Storytelling camp will take place August 2-5, 2011 at the Immaculate Conception Parish Centre in Dunbar, Vancouver. Registration will be available in early March.
